Community Guidelines

Deep Tech Dirt is a community. Its mission is to connect founders with one another and with accurate, timely information on building deep tech companies. You get out what you put in. Deep Tech Dirt will be richer and more valuable the more intel is shared and the more questions that are asked.
Intel on investors, accelerators, and service providers is visible only to founder members. Forum posts are public by default. Non-members can read them, but authors are shown anonymously. Posts marked "Members Only" are visible to founder members only.
Investors and other non-founders can access the site only to keep their entity profiles accurate. They do not get access to founder-specific content.
In addition, we ask all members to adhere to the following principles:
1. Respect All Members
Deep Tech Dirt has a zero-tolerance policy for harmful and threatening language. Violations of mutual respect will result in suspension from the platform.
2. Personal Use Only
Deep Tech Dirt data is free for members, but it wasn't free to curate. We ask that you respect the data and the website by using it only for your personal use. Please do not scrape or bulk-export the site's data.
3. Say Where It Came From
The site is meant to be a place with relevant, timely, and accurate information. When you share a story, let the community know whether it is a first-hand experience or something you heard from someone else.
4. No Soliciting
This is not a place to sell your company or services. Ask questions, share your stories, and keep your profile updated so people can find you. Member profiles are not an extension of your sales pipeline.
5. Keep It Real
AI is everywhere. Deep Tech Dirt is about real people providing their real stories. Use whatever tools help you write clearly, but the experience has to be yours. Don't post generated summaries or speculation as if it were first-hand intel.
6. Confidentiality Both Ways
Do not post confidential information to the site. Do not violate NDAs, non-disparagement, or other legal contracts. Also, respect the privacy and confidentiality of Deep Tech Dirt. Do not share screenshots or members' private information outside the community.
7. Constructive, not Destructive
We ask founders to share their intel and experience. This does not give you the right to be libelous or defamatory of an investor, accelerator, or some other entity. We protect member privacy, but we can't guarantee that anything posted here stays private. Post in a way you won't regret if the message becomes public.
8. One Person, One Account
We rely on you being you. Please do not share your login with anyone else.
How we enforce these guidelines
If we detect a violation of any of these guidelines, we may intervene on behalf of the community. Serious violations (including threatening or harassing language, sharing member information, or reselling site data) will result in an immediate suspension while we investigate. All other violations will result in an initial warning. Repeated violations will result in a suspension from the community while a human moderator reviews the situation. Upheld suspensions are permanent.
These guidelines are a work in progress and subject to change as the community grows and evolves.
