Astana International Forum

The Regional Ecological Summit (RES) 2026, held under the Astana International Forum auspices, convenes approximately 1,500 delegates from national governments, development banks, UN agencies, and energy companies in Astana, Kazakhstan, April 22–24. The summit features comprehensive Energy and Climate Change track programming addressing renewable energy deployment, green hydrogen development, carbon capture and storage, and policy frameworks for energy transition across Central Asia. Sessions bring together heads of state, energy ministers, climate finance experts, and industry leaders discussing renewable energy capacity scaling to 8+ GW by 2035, hydrogen production and export strategies, and financing mechanisms for clean energy projects. Strategic partnerships with the World Bank, EBRD, Asian Development Bank, UNDP, and IRENA enable discussion of pilot projects and technology transfer. The forum emphasizes Central Asia's emerging role as a renewable energy hub and in advancing global climate commitments.
