CarbonFix

CarbonFix is an Amsterdam-based climate-focused foundation and investment vehicle that funds early-stage carbon ventures and systemic climate interventions others are not yet willing to back. Operating as both a foundation (grants) and a BV (loans and investments), it targets the earliest-stage carbon moonshots — ventures without institutional funding that aim to remove or avoid 10+ Mt of CO2 equivalent within 10 years using a scientifically credible approach. For-profit ventures can apply for loans or equity-style investments; nonprofits working on carbon-related research, policy, community building, or nature restoration can apply for grants. CarbonFix commits a yearly multi-million euro pledge across the coming decade and also facilitates investor matchmaking and co-investor introductions. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis via separate tracks for ventures and grantees. The organization collaborates closely with climate-focused VCs, family offices, and foundations to amplify impact and develop a replicable playbook for philanthropic climate finance.
