Decisive Point

Decisive Point is a venture capital firm founded in 2018 that invests in dual-use deep-tech startups addressing critical challenges in defense, energy, infrastructure, and national security. The firm operates from offices in New York, Washington D.C., and Boston, and targets early-stage companies—primarily at the Seed and Series A stages—with dual-use technology applicable to both government and commercial markets. It has deployed two venture funds; Fund I closed at $10M (initial close January 2021) and Fund II is its current vehicle. Beyond capital, Decisive Point's Portfolio Services team provides hands-on support in federal acquisitions strategy (Other Transactions, Commercial Solution Openings, Middle Tier Acquisition), government contracting, non-dilutive R&D funding capture, congressional relations, and customer discovery within the federal market. The firm also operates accelerator programs in partnership with the DoD's National Security Innovation Network (NSIN). Portfolio companies span robotics and autonomous systems, AI, advanced materials, space, nuclear energy, and maritime autonomy.
