EIFO – Export and Investment Fund of Denmark

EIFO (Danmarks Eksport- og Investeringsfond) is Denmark's state-owned National Promotional Bank (NPB) and Export Credit Agency (ECA), established in 2023 through the merger of Vaekstfonden (The Danish Growth Fund), EKF Denmark's Export Credit Agency, and the Danish Green Investment Fund. It provides loans, guarantees, match loans, and direct equity investments to Danish companies from pre-seed startups through large corporates, and also invests as an LP in Danish and international venture funds. Its legal mandate is to promote growth and innovation in Danish trade and industry, support export and internationalization, and contribute to a sustainable green transition. Investment focus spans technology, life sciences, green energy, deep tech, defense, and quantum computing. EIFO always participates alongside other financing sources and, for fund investments, invests as part of a syndicate. Startups must have completed first customer sales to qualify.
