FoodLabs

FoodLabs is a Berlin-based pan-European early-stage venture capital firm and venture studio focused on food, health, and climate. Founded in 2016 by Christophe F. Maire, the firm has backed more than 80 companies since inception, including Formo, Infinite Roots, Klim, Infarm, and Meatable. Its third fund, closed in December 2025 at €105m, targets three pillars: agriculture, food security, and health, with a focus on deep-tech ventures emerging from research labs. FoodLabs writes first cheques between $100k and $2m and plans to back 25–30 startups across Europe from Fund III. LPs include Bitburger Holding, Nestlé, Red Bull, and Landwirtschaftliche Rentenbank. Beyond capital, the firm operates a Studio arm that supports founders from the pre-idea stage, helping test concepts, refine technology, and build early partnerships.
