Fraunhofer AHEAD
Accelerator, Incubator, FellowshipActiveFraunhofer-Gesellschaft's technology transfer incubator for ventures built on Fraunhofer technology, entered through a mandatory four-day bootcamp that ends with teams pitching for AHEAD Phase 1. It supports four routes: licensing to established companies, Fraunhofer spin-offs, cooperation between Fraunhofer scientists and external startups, and spin-offs with external co-founders. Requirements include a Fraunhofer technology with freedom to operate, an initial business or product idea, a minimum technology readiness level of 3 to 5 depending on the route, and at least one Fraunhofer employee on the team. There are two intakes a year, with the next bootcamp scheduled for 5 to 8 April 2027.
