Freeflow Ventures is an early-stage venture capital firm founded in 2019, focused on deep tech solutions to human and planetary health challenges. Rooted in the entrepreneurial communities of Caltech, UC Berkeley, and UCSF, the firm invests in science-driven founders translating core science, AI, and proprietary technology into category-defining companies. With $100M in AUM across three funds — Fund One ($25M), Fund Two ($35M), and an Opportunity Fund ($15M closed in early 2024) — plus additional SPVs, Freeflow has backed more than 40 companies at pre-seed through Series B stages. The firm's portfolio spans human health (therapeutics, diagnostics, med tech, drug discovery, consumer health, biomanufacturing) and planetary health (carbon capture, energy, water, robotics, geospatial, advanced manufacturing, advanced electronics). Managing Partners are David Fleck and Kevin Barrett. Beyond capital, Freeflow provides hands-on support in fundraising, marketing, hiring, and strategy, and typically spends an average of 10 months with founders before investing.
