Green Schools Conference

The 16th annual Green Schools Conference, held February 17–19 at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Marina in San Diego, convenes educators, school administrators, sustainability leaders, and advocates to advance whole-school sustainability and high-performance green campuses. Organized by the Center for Green Schools (U.S. Green Building Council), the conference unites those who lead, operate, and teach in sustainable schools to share evidence-based practices for decarbonizing facilities and enhancing student health. Core themes include net-zero and energy-efficient school facility design and retrofits, sustainable procurement and operations reducing waste, healthy indoor air quality and non-toxic materials, water conservation and stormwater management, community engagement and environmental education, and funding mechanisms enabling capital improvements. The three-day program features keynotes, expert-led workshops, hands-on demonstrations, and peer-learning sessions, followed by optional post-conference tours of local green schools. The conference establishes a supportive community of practitioners advancing sustainable K–12 education.
