Grey Silo Ventures
InvestorActiveGrey Silo Ventures is the corporate venture capital arm of Italy's Cereal Docks Group, founded in 2022 to invest in food-tech and agri-food startups developing non-animal-based ingredients and related technologies. It backs companies from pre-seed/seed through Series A, typically writing checks around €350K, and can co-lead but generally prefers to follow rounds. Its thematic focus spans fermentation-derived proteins, alternative fats, functional ingredients, ag-tech and robotics, with a geographic focus on Europe (largely outside Italy) and Israel. As a corporate investor tied to Cereal Docks, a plant-based ingredient processor working with over 11,000 farmers in Italy, portfolio companies gain access to the group's industry network and supply-chain expertise, though deep operational collaboration with Cereal Docks typically occurs only at later stages. The fund operates on an evergreen basis rather than a fixed-term structure. Portfolio companies include Juicy Marbles, Foreverland, MicroHarvest, xFarm, and Aardaia.
