Incubatenergy Labs Challenge (EPRI)
Accelerator, Incubator, FellowshipActiveThe Incubatenergy Labs Challenge is an annual programme run by the Electric Power Research Institute that matches early-stage energy startups with member utilities for paid proof-of-concept demonstrations, typically executed over eight to sixteen weeks. Challenge categories cover grid modernization and resilience including wildfire mitigation and cybersecurity, demand flexibility and DER or EV aggregation, smart load growth including storage and local generation, and advanced utility operations spanning sensors, robotics and workforce tools. Roughly 20 to 25 finalists pitch to participating utilities at a Pitch Day and selected projects culminate in a public Demo Day. EPRI reports more than 80 demonstrations and over USD 10 million in demonstration funding across eight years.
