The International Conference on Low Carbon Asia (ICLCA) is a well-established, action-oriented platform held annually across Asian cities, launched by the UTM-Low Carbon Asia Research Centre in 2015 to advance decarbonization pathways and low-carbon development strategies. Convening policymakers, city planners, industry leaders, academic researchers, investors, and community representatives, ICLCA features four-day programming including technical presentations, case studies of scalable decarbonization solutions, circular economy discussions, site visits showcasing sustainable infrastructure, and facilitated dialogues on local climate action. Recent editions have been hosted in Johor Bahru, Bangkok, Manila, Shanghai, and Okayama; the conference addresses industrial decarbonization, renewable energy integration, waste management, sustainable transportation, green building technologies, and climate policy implementation across Asia and the Pacific region, emphasizing locally-contextualized solutions for rapid-growth economies.
