Invest-NL Deep Tech Fund

Invest-NL Deep Tech Fund is a Netherlands-based, government-backed venture capital fund launched in March 2022 by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy and Invest-NL, with a total fund size of €250 million (€175 million from the Ministry, €75 million from Invest-NL). The fund invests in early-stage and growth-stage Dutch startups and scale-ups operating in knowledge-intensive sectors including photonics, quantum technology, nanotechnology, semiconductors, advanced materials, chemical technology, digital technology, life sciences technologies, and engineering and manufacturing technologies—aligned with eight of the ten key technologies in the Netherlands' National Technology Strategy. The DTF targets capital-intensive companies with disruptive technologies at TRL 3–9 that struggle to secure conventional financing due to high market and technological risk, aiming to bridge the so-called "valley of death." The fund operates as a co-investment vehicle housed as an independent unit within Invest-NL, with an external investment committee of industry experts providing binding investment advice.
