Marunouchi Innovation Partners Co., Ltd. (MIP) is a Tokyo-based climate tech growth-stage investment firm founded in 2022 as a joint venture between Mitsubishi Corporation (main sponsor), MUFG Bank, and Pavilion Private Equity. It manages the Marunouchi Climate Tech Growth Fund L.P. (established April 2023), which raised $400M at initial close and targets a final size of $800M–$1B. The fund provides growth capital to startups in the commercialization and scaling phase across next-generation energy (hydrogen, ammonia, SAF), renewable energy and grid, batteries and electrification, carbon capture and reduction (CCU, CCS, DAC), sustainable materials (green steel, green cement), and climate software (AI/data analytics, carbon management). MIP invests globally, with offices in Tokyo, Silicon Valley, and London, and leverages Mitsubishi Corporation's industrial and financial networks to support portfolio companies' global expansion. Portfolio companies include Amogy, Boston Metal, Fervo Energy, and Infinitum Electric.
