GrantActiveThe NIST SBIR program provides grants to small businesses developing innovative products and services in areas like advanced manufacturing, AI, semiconductors, additive manufacturing, and measurement standards. Phase I awards up to $100,000 for six months of feasibility research, and Phase II offers up to $400,000 to continue successful Phase I projects toward commercialization. NIST issues an annual Notice of Funding Opportunity for Phase I proposals across its science and technology focus areas. Note that the SBIR program is currently awaiting Congressional reauthorization, so new solicitation timelines may be uncertain.
