Quantacet

Quantacet is a Quebec-based venture capital fund exclusively focused on quantum technology startups, making it the first and only dedicated quantum VC fund in the province. The fund targets pre-seed and seed stage companies across quantum computing, quantum sensing, quantum communications, and enabling technologies, backing founders who can demonstrate a clear growth path in global markets. Quantacet announced a first close of $20 million in late 2023, anchored by a $10 million commitment from Investissement Québec, with an additional $4 million from the Eureka fund for pre-seed quantum startups from Quebec's public research institutions. The fund aims to invest in approximately 20 companies over five years. While primarily focused on Quebec-based startups, Quantacet will also make strategic investments in foreign companies, particularly those considering operations in Quebec. Its current portfolio includes Nord Quantique, Femtum, Xatoms, Quminex, Phantom Photonics, and others. Quantacet is co-managed by Martin Laforest, Chloé Archambault, and Ghyslain Goulet, and is a co-founding partner of QV Studio, a Sherbrooke-based quantum startup studio.
