SEB Greentech Venture Capital is a corporate venture unit within Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB), one of the largest Nordic financial institutions, launched in late 2020 to back green technology companies capable of meaningfully reducing greenhouse gas emissions or preventing transgression of planetary boundaries. The fund invests in hardware, software, and technology platform solutions spanning renewable energy, energy storage, water and agricultural technology, circular business models, and waste management. SEB Greentech targets Seed and Series A stage companies that have validated their technology under real operating conditions, ideally with recurring revenue from key customers, and are positioned to scale internationally. Initial check sizes typically range from SEK 10–40 million (approximately €1–4 million), with a balance-sheet investment structure and a SEK 1 billion mandate that allows for sustained follow-on commitment. The fund operates as an active minority investor seeking board representation, with a geographic focus on Europe and a particular emphasis on the Nordic and Baltic markets.
