The 21st International Conference on Waste Management and Technology (ICWMT 21)

ICWMT 21, the 21st International Conference on Waste Management and Technology, convenes 800+ global experts, municipal leaders, environmental scientists, technology innovators, and waste management professionals in Shanghai from July 4–7 to advance zero-waste city development and circular-economy innovation. Hosted by Tsinghua University and organized by the Basel Convention Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific, this four-day event has served as the premier international waste management innovation platform since 2005, influencing policy across Asia and globally. The program features 50+ technical sessions, plenary addresses from international waste authorities and policymakers, exhibition halls showcasing circular-economy technologies, and field tours demonstrating advanced municipal waste-management practices in Chinese cities. Core topics include plastics regulation frameworks, energy recovery technologies from waste streams, circular design innovations, hazardous waste management protocols, and zero-waste urban policy mechanisms.
