The Footprint Firm

The Footprint Firm is a Copenhagen-based impact venture capital and advisory firm founded in 2019. Its investment arm operates Footprint Fund I, a €76 million Article 9-classified debut fund that reached final close in January 2026. The fund targets pre-seed and seed stage deep-tech and scale-up companies across Northern Europe contributing to the green transition, deploying checks of €0.5–2 million per investment and aiming to back approximately 30 companies in total. As of close, the fund had already invested in 20 startups across sectors including energy, biosolutions, AI and climate tech, circular manufacturing, the built environment, carbon removal, and food systems. The firm operates an integrated model in which its 45-person specialist team works hands-on with portfolio companies on commercialisation, regulatory strategy, scientific validation, and partnerships. Alongside its venture activities, The Footprint Firm runs a separate sustainability advisory practice serving corporates, investors, and public institutions.
