Unicorn India Ventures is a venture capital firm founded in 2016 and based in Mumbai, India, with offices in London and Delaware, that backs Indian technology startups. It invests in companies where the technology itself is the moat, meaning the core advantage comes from new science, models or novel hardware rather than a business model layered on existing tools. Its sectors include artificial intelligence, semiconductors, robotics, space technology, aerospace, mobility, infrastructure, healthcare and life sciences. The firm judges opportunities on technical innovation, how early the market is, novelty and capital efficiency, and it is willing to commit in first institutional rounds when conviction matters more than traction. It invests at seed and Series A. With IIT Madras it co-manages the IITM Unicorn Frontier Fund I, a Rs 1,000 crore vehicle for IP-led deep tech that is raising in 2026. Partners limit themselves to a small number of board seats and give founders direct access, and the firm runs a founder program called Founders Forge. Founders can apply through the pitch form on its website.
