Voima Ventures

Voima Ventures is a venture capital investor backing early-stage, science-based deep tech startups across the Nordic and Baltic regions. Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Helsinki with a second office in Stockholm, the firm invests in companies emerging from university spin-offs and research ecosystems, with thesis areas spanning life sciences, new materials, advanced manufacturing, quantum and AI, imaging and optics, IoT and electronics, sensing and diagnostics, energy, and food. Voima typically invests from pre-seed through Series A, occasionally leading Series B rounds, with initial check sizes ranging from €200K to €3M and capacity for meaningful follow-on participation. The firm closed its third fund, Voima Ventures Fund III, at over €100M in December 2024, with the vehicle targeting 25–30 portfolio companies and backed by limited partners including the European Investment Fund, Tesi, VTT, Saminvest, Nordea Life, and Elo.
