Wind (formerly Wind Capital) is a Paris-based venture capital firm founded in 2015 by repeat entrepreneurs Thierry Vandewalle and Xavier Gury, backing European deeptech founders. The firm focuses on pioneering sustainable deeptech, spanning climate-resilience sectors—energy, mobility, food and air quality, construction—and "sovereignty" technologies including AI, cybersecurity, space, and defense. Wind invests from pre-seed through Series B with ticket sizes of €100K–€5M. Its current vehicle is an Article 9 (SFDR) fund targeting €130 million, which reached €90 million at first close and is anchored by a €30 million commitment from the European Investment Fund (EIF). This follows Wind Capital I, a €23 million evergreen fund. Wind II plans to back up to 30 seed and Series A companies, with roughly half of the capital reserved for follow-on investments. Notable portfolio companies include Yuka, Cowboy, Getaround, Ynsect, Interstellar Lab, and Eclipse. Founders can submit a deck via the firm's website or contact hello@wind.capital. Offices are located on the Champs-Élysées and Boulevard Haussmann in Paris.
