Welcome to Deep Tech Dirt - How-To

Dirt Member9 views0 comments

If you just joined Deep Tech Dirt, welcome! This is a great post to start your journey.

As you probably figured out by now, Deep Tech Dirt is all about deep tech founders helping each other to find the right resources for their entrepreneurial journey.

How do you do that? There are a couple of things to check out:

The List - Lots of places have investor and accelerator lists. What makes our list different? It gives you a chance to pay it forward to other founders by sharing your "intel." Did you have a startup-changing experience in an accelerator? Write a short intel report on that accelerator so other people know about it. Conversely, did you end up in an accelerator that took a bunch of equity but didn't help you achieve your goals? You can share that critical insight as well. And we let you post anonymously.

Ready to share something? Just navigate to The List, and click the "+ Submit Intel" button at the top of the page.

The Forum - Want to get input on a question or challenge you are facing? Post it to the forum. Posts are shared with the entire community in our weekly email digest, and our moderators will be keeping an eye on things to help you find the right resources. Also, we make sure posts are anonymous to the public but attributed to other Deep Tech Dirt members.

Have a question for other founders? Head over to the Forum and click the "+ New Post" button at the top of the page.

The Calendar - The List includes a large number of grants and accelerators with deadlines, as well as conferences with dates. To help you navigate these time-sensitive applications and registrations, we created the Calendar feature. It provides a 30-day look-ahead of grant and accelerator deadlines, and upcoming conferences, all filterable by sector.

Looking for a conference to attend in your sector? Check out the Calendar now.

DTD News - One of the hardest parts of being a founder is finding investors who 1) are a good fit for your startup, and 2) are writing checks. DTD News is a repository of recent investments and fund announcements from across the deep tech sector. We highlight the last 2 weeks, but the entire news feed is searchable. We tag the relevant investors or accelerators to help you quickly find investors backing similar startups and who might be a good fit for you.

Want to see the investment trends in your sector? Head over to DTD News to see the latest news.

Members - Finally, make sure your founder profile is fully set up in the Members section. You can find other founders in your sector and email them through DTD. We don’t share emails publicly or with founders. If you receive an email, you have to reply to share your contact info. And we have spam protections in place so you aren’t flooded with unwanted emails.

Do you want to find other founders in your sector? Check out the Members section to see who else is part of the community.

Spread the Word - Deep Tech Dirt works best when we bring as many founders together as possible. Invite other founders you know using the Refer a Friend feature. Navigate to your profile by clicking on your username at the top of the page and then click the “Refer a Friend” button to get your custom sign-up link. Send that to other founders, and you get credit for their sign-up. We will provide fun bonuses and incentives to the folks who refer people to the site.

Questions? Feel free to ask in the comments.

Thanks again for joining Deep Tech Dirt. We are excited to help each other build the companies of the future.
