AFoCO Annual Thematic Dialogue

The Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO) convenes its Annual Thematic Dialogue in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia to advance forest-based climate solutions, blended finance mechanisms, and international forest investment partnerships across Asia. The 2025 edition, held May 13, 2025, brought together government officials from member states, development finance institutions, private sector investors, forest management professionals, and civil society experts to discuss climate-smart forestry investments, ecosystem services valuation and payment mechanisms, carbon financing and carbon credit systems, and innovative multi-stakeholder partnerships. The dialogue focuses on catalyzing private investment in sustainable forest management, agroforestry systems, and forest restoration while achieving climate adaptation and mitigation targets. Key themes include nature-based solutions for climate resilience, green finance innovation and blended finance structures, and policy frameworks that incentivize long-term forest conservation while improving community livelihoods.
