Bold Ocean Ventures

Bold Ocean Ventures is a seed-stage venture capital fund partnering with the Gulf of Maine Research Institute, currently raising $15M to invest in 8-12 companies developing innovative solutions for a productive, sustainable, and climate-resilient ocean ecosystem. Led by veteran venture investors Brady Bohrmann and Tim Agnew with 20+ years of venture experience, the fund focuses on the seafood supply chain, climate change impacts, and ocean-related innovations where GMRI's scientific expertise adds direct value. The fund also partners with Northeastern University's Roux Institute on the Blue w(AI)ve accelerator program focused on AI-enabled ocean tech. Geographic focus is the Gulf of Maine region with emphasis on Maine companies, seeking founders with deep domain expertise in seafood, fisheries, aquaculture, or climate adaptation willing to leverage research institution partnerships.
