Hawaii SBIR Matching Grants
GrantActiveHawaii's Small Business Innovation Research (HSBIR) program, administered by the Hawaii Technology Development Corporation, provides state matching grants of up to $75,000 (Phase 1) or $500,000 (Phase 2/3) to Hawaii-based companies that have received federal SBIR/STTR awards. The program is designed to help companies enhance Phase I project development, compete more effectively for Phase II awards, and accelerate commercialization. A Phase 0 grant of up to $3,000 is also available to companies new to SBIR that need help preparing a competitive federal Phase I application. Applicants must be for-profit organizations with fewer than 500 employees and demonstrate potential for significant economic impact in Hawaii. FY26 applications are closed; HTDC states Phase 0 and Phase I will reopen in Fall 2026.
