Intrepid Investment Management is the principal investment arm of Intrepid Financial Partners, an independent merchant bank founded in 2015 and focused on the energy sector. The firm manages private funds across four strategies: energy private equity (middle-market growth and yield-oriented investments in midstream, upstream, and energy transition in North America), energy infrastructure (terminaling and storage assets in North America), energy transition venture capital (technologies relevant to decarbonization of the traditional energy sector), and private credit (energy and energy transition situations where traditional capital is less accessible). It manages capital on behalf of global institutions, foundations, public and private energy companies, insurance companies, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals. As a registered investment adviser, the firm reported approximately $323M in AUM. Intrepid's investment banking business is being acquired by Houlihan Lokey; the investment management business continues to operate independently.
