Luminate
Accelerator, Incubator, FellowshipActiveLuminate is a six-month hybrid accelerator for optics, photonics and imaging-enabled startups, operated by NextCorps in Rochester with Empire State Development backing, deploying roughly USD 3 million per cohort. Companies receive USD 100,000 at the start of the programme with up to USD 2 million in follow-on funding available to top performers at completion, plus mentorship, software and tooling including Zemax OpticStudio, MATLAB and PitchBook, and pitches to more than 30 investors and corporates. Participants also plug into the roughly 160-company New York photonics cluster. Requirements include an incorporated company, technology proven at lab scale or beyond, at least two full-time team members, and monthly travel to Rochester by a C-level founder.
