MaC Venture Capital is a majority Black-owned, seed-stage venture capital firm founded in 2019 through the merger of Cross Culture Ventures (Marlon Nichols) and M Ventures (Adrian Fenty, Michael Palank, Charles D. King). Based in Los Angeles with a Silicon Valley presence, the firm manages over $500M in assets across three funds and has backed 120+ portfolio companies. MaC deploys initial checks of $1M–$4M at the seed stage and reserves capital for follow-on in top performers. The firm is sector-agnostic but has concentrated exposure in frontier/hard tech, fintech, enterprise software, consumer products, robotics, and space. It applies a 'cultural investing' framework—identifying behavioral and societal shifts as leading indicators of market opportunity—and maintains an explicit Africa strategy with investments spanning North America, Africa, and beyond. Notable portfolio companies include Pipe, Stoke Space, Chef Robotics, and Wonder Dynamics (acquired by Autodesk). MaC's most recent vehicle, Fund III, closed at $150M in late 2024.
