Metaplanet
InvestorActiveMetaplanet (Metaplanet Holdings OÜ) is an evergreen, single-LP venture capital firm founded in 2011 and headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia. Founded by Jaan Tallinn (a founding engineer of Skype and co-founder of the Future of Life Institute), the firm makes early-stage investments in deep technology companies focused on humanity's long-term survival and positive civilizational impact. Its sweet spot is late Seed and Series A, with a median initial ticket of ~$3M and follow-on capacity of $20M or more; it targets roughly 8–10% ownership per initial investment. Metaplanet invests globally across AI, life sciences, crypto, climate, and enterprise sectors, with 170+ portfolio companies and 50+ exits as of 2025. Because it has no external LPs and no exit deadlines, it is stage-agnostic for follow-on rounds and does not take board seats. A portion of returns funds philanthropic grants targeting existential risks, particularly from advanced AI. Founders can submit pitches via a Google Form linked from the FAQ page.
