Nysnø Climate Investments

Nysnø Climate Investments AS is a Norwegian state-owned climate investment company established in December 2017 by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries. It makes both direct equity investments in early-stage companies and fund investments, targeting businesses with operations in or originating from Norway that contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Nysnø always invests alongside private investors on equal (pari passu) terms and holds only minority stakes, requiring private investors to own at least 51% of portfolio companies or funds. Its investment universe spans industry, transport, buildings, agriculture, and land use. As of 2024–2026, Nysnø manages approximately NOK 5.5 billion in assets across a portfolio of 49 investments, having provided risk capital to over 429 early-stage climate technology companies in total. The firm is headquartered in Stavanger, with an additional office in Oslo.
