Otium
InvestorActiveOtium is a private investment holding company (family office) founded in 2009 by Pierre-Édouard Stérin, the founder of Smartbox, and headquartered in Paris, France. It invests at all stages of company development — from seed to growth capital and LBO transactions on mature companies — taking majority or minority stakes with no holding period constraints. Investment tickets range from €2 million to €200 million per deal. As of December 31, 2025, Otium manages €1.8 billion in assets and has supported 130+ companies since inception, achieving a 25% IRR since 2015. Its portfolio spans technology, industrials, leisure, healthcare, real estate, and consumer goods, with notable investments including PayFit, Owkin, The Fork, and Polène. Alongside direct investing, Otium operates Otium Studio, an integrated venture-building arm that ideates, funds, and builds startups alongside founders from concept to commercial launch. Otium pursues a long-term, hands-on partnership model with no imposed exit deadlines.
