Pear VC is a pre-seed and seed-stage venture capital firm based in Menlo Park and San Francisco, California, investing primarily across the United States. The firm backs founders across AI applications and infrastructure, B2B and vertical software, consumer, fintech, biotech/healthcare, and deep tech areas such as space, robotics, semiconductors, quantum computing and photonics, alongside more generalist software and consumer bets. It invests from idea stage through early traction, working with both first-time and repeat founders, including many pre-product teams and student builders, and does not provide growth-stage capital. At pre-seed, companies typically join PearX, its 12-week cohort-based program (two cohorts a year, capped near 25 teams), receiving $500K–$2M for roughly 7% ownership; at seed and beyond it writes checks up to $10M and leads or co-leads rounds as a founder's first institutional check. Beyond capital, Pear provides in-house talent/recruiting, go-to-market, and fundraising support teams, office space through Pear Studio, and senior partners who are themselves former founders and operators. Founders apply via an online application (pear.vc/pearx-application for PearX; rolling for direct seed investment) that is reviewed by a Pear investor before interviews.
