Polytechnique Ventures
InvestorActivePolytechnique Ventures is the alumni-financed venture capital fund of École Polytechnique, founded in 2020 and based in Paris. It invests exclusively in startups from the École Polytechnique ecosystem — founded by alumni (engineering, Bachelor, Master, Exec, PhD, or post-doc), incubated at the school's Drahi X-Novation Center, or originating from its laboratories. The fund prioritises ambitious deep tech teams across energy, climate and environment, mobility and aerospace, biomedical engineering and health, industry 4.0 and robotics, new materials, IoT, digital economy, and cybersecurity. Its investment strategy is focused on co-investment at early stages, with initial tickets of €50K–€250K at pre-seed, €250K–€1M at seed, and follow-on investments of approximately €1M–€3M at Series A; it may exceptionally participate in Series B. The fund targets portfolios of 15–20 companies per vehicle. Fund I closed at €36M in March 2023, backed by 160 alumni. Fund II launched in October 2025 with a first close of €21M and a target of €30–40M. The fund is managed by IQEQ Management (formerly Equitis Gestion) and half of the team's carried interest is ceded to the École Polytechnique Foundation.
