The incubator has supported 13 innovative pilot projects leveraging $5.8M in additional R&D funding from participating companies, with a focus on sustainable shellfish and seaweed aquaculture, port-related blue technology, marine conservation, and decarbonization. Rather than traditional equity investment, the Port provides operational support, pilot space, and development funding to validate business models before scaling. Geographic focus is San Diego Bay and Southern California, ideal for founders with innovative solutions to maritime challenges willing to work collaboratively with public port operations.
