Sagarmatha Sambaad is a biennial multi-stakeholder dialogue on climate change, mountains, and humanity's future, held in Kathmandu, convening heads of state, policymakers, scientists, youth leaders, Indigenous peoples, and civil society organizations to advance global mountain-focused climate action. Initiated by Nepal's Government and named after Mount Sagarmatha (Mount Everest), the forum serves as a permanent global platform addressing mountain ecosystem resilience, nature-based solutions, climate mitigation, and policy synergies under the Paris Agreement. The 2027 edition builds on the 2025 inaugural conference, which produced the 25-point 'Sagarmatha Call for Action' addressing key global climate issues. Sessions feature keynote addresses from international leaders, scientific presentations on glacial systems and water security, Indigenous knowledge frameworks for adaptation, and policy working groups on transboundary water management, biodiversity conservation, and climate finance. Participation spans 1,500+ attendees.
