Sontag Innovation Fund

The Sontag Innovation Fund is a venture philanthropy fund and wholly owned subsidiary of the Sontag Foundation, the largest private donor to primary brain cancer research in the United States. Established in 2021 and based in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, it invests in early-stage, high-risk technologies with the potential to diagnose, treat, prevent, or cure brain cancer. Areas of interest include therapeutics, diagnostics, medical devices, and other related technologies. Investments are typically structured as loans or equity and extend to both for-profit and non-profit entities. The fund seeks return of principal to recycle capital for long-term impact. Portfolio companies also receive intellectual property support, management guidance, and access to the foundation's scientific advisory board and network of researchers, hospitals, universities, and investors.
