SPRIND is Germany’s federal agency for disruptive innovation; its Challenge format funds several competing teams through staged, milestone-gated fixed-price development contracts rather than equity. The open Next Frontier Robotics Challenge funds up to €7.2M per team over 36 months across four stages, covering multi-purpose robotic platforms and novel robotic hardware components. Other open calls include Recoding Medicine and two quantum-sensing Funke calls. Teams also receive venture development coaching, investor connections and customer introductions; European applicants are eligible and teams are expected to incorporate.
