Urban Future 2026

Urban Future 2026 is the premier international conference on sustainable and resilient cities, held in Ljubljana, Slovenia from March 24 to 27, 2026 at the Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre. The event gathered 2,000 urbanists, city leaders, planners, policymakers, and changemakers from 290 cities across 48 countries collaborating on building thriving, inclusive, and climate-adapted urban environments. The comprehensive program featured 180 expert speakers delivering 60 knowledge sessions, complemented by 30 curated field trips across Ljubljana's innovative urban neighborhoods and sustainability initiatives. Core themes encompassed circular economy strategies for waste reduction, urban resilience and climate adaptation, vibrant public spaces and cultural vitality, equitable community development, and transformative change communication. The conference emphasized that sustainable cities require meaningful collaboration across municipal governments, architects, businesses, nonprofits, and residents themselves.
