Vento Ventures

Vento is a Turin-based, sector-agnostic early-stage venture capital firm founded in April 2022 and wholly funded by Exor, the Agnelli family's Dutch investment holding company. The firm focuses exclusively on startups with at least one Italian founder, regardless of where they are based. Its second fund (Fund II), hard-capped at €75 million and launched in March 2025, targets 375 investments over five years with a standardized initial ticket of €150,000 and follow-on capacity up to €1 million; the firm does not require a board seat. Beyond direct investment, Vento runs a five-month Venture Building program (January–June, requiring full-time relocation to Turin) that selects pre-idea, pre-team individuals, provides a €3,750 grant during the first 12 weeks (funded by Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo), and then invests €80,000 for 10% equity in the most promising teams. Vento also organizes Italian Tech Week, an annual conference in Turin that drew 15,000+ attendees from 50+ countries in 2024. The investment committee includes John Elkann (chair), Diego Piacentini, Mike Volpi, and Jean de La Rochebrochard.
