AN Venture Partners

AN Venture Partners (ANV) is a Tokyo and San Francisco-based multi-stage biotech venture capital firm founded in 2022 in alliance with ARCH Venture Partners, with backing from the Japanese government. The firm specializes in identifying innovative science originating from Japan and building or co-building biotech startups within the US ecosystem. ANV invests across all stages — from pre-proof-of-concept to advanced clinical — in biotechnology and related fields, across all modalities and disease areas with significant clinical potential. Its debut fund, AN Venture Partners I, LP, closed in June 2025 at its $200M target, backed by more than 20 LPs including Japan Investment Corporation, Shionogi, Otsuka Pharmaceutical, MUFG Bank, and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation. The fund has a 10-year term (launched December 2023). Portfolio companies include Capacity Bio, Typewriter Therapeutics, City Therapeutics, Imbria Pharmaceuticals, Tortugas Neuroscience, Crystalys Therapeutics, and PAhR Therapeutics.
