Cambridge Angels is a UK business angel network founded in 2001, based in Cambridge, and investing in early-stage, science and engineering-based companies across the UK. The group is invitation-only, capped at 65 members (plus several corporate/VC members), the majority of whom are exited entrepreneurs in tech and healthcare. Members invest personal capital as a syndicate, typically meeting funding requirements of £150k–£1.5m, usually as the first equity round, targeting UK-registered B2B businesses with proprietary IP, a £100m+ addressable market, and a 7–10 year exit horizon of 10x. Operations are funded by membership fees and sponsorship; no pitching fees or carry are charged to companies. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis via the website and are screened by AI before member review. The group also hosts office hours offering free, no-obligation feedback from experienced investors, and maintains close ties to the Cambridge 'Silicon Fen' ecosystem and the University of Cambridge.
