Houston Energy and Climate Startup Week (HECSW) is an annual, community-organized citywide conference held each September in Houston, Texas, bringing together energy and climate startups, venture capital investors, and industry leaders. Launched in 2024 by a coalition of regional organizations — including Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship, Halliburton Labs, Greentown Labs, Activate, New Climate Ventures, and the Houston Energy Transition Initiative — the week spans five days and features independently organized events (panels, pitch days, showcases, networking, and site tours) held at venues across the city. The 2025 edition drew more than 3,900 attendees across 30+ events, with 145+ speakers and 290+ startups represented. The 2026 edition is scheduled for September 14–18, 2026. There is no single registration or ticket; attendees build their own schedule from the public event calendar. The week is free to organize events within, and community organizations may submit events for inclusion on the official calendar.
