ICES 2026 – 55th International Conference on Environmental Systems

The 55th International Conference on Environmental Systems convenes space environmental specialists, aerospace engineers, life scientists, and habitat system designers July 12–16, 2026, at the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. Established in 1971, ICES disseminates technical knowledge on human habitation and operations in extreme environments—terrestrial, aerospace, and extraterrestrial. The 2026 conference features 40+ technical sessions addressing environmental control and life-support system technologies, planetary protection protocols, thermal control innovations for spacecraft and habitats, human factors and ergonomics in microgravity environments, EVA system design and operation, environmental monitoring and contamination prevention, and habitat systems engineering for long-duration missions. Participants span academic institutions, government space agencies (NASA, ESA, others), commercial aerospace companies, and international space organizations, presenting research and sharing engineering solutions enabling safe, sustainable human presence in space and advancing deep-space exploration sustainability goals.
