The MIT $100K Entrepreneurship Competition is a student-managed startup competition distributing $300,000 annually in non-dilutive grant money across three progressive stages: Pitch (September, $5K prize), Accelerate (March, $10K prize), and Launch (spring, $100K grand prize). At least one full-time MIT student must be on each team, but participation is open to external collaborators as well. Participants receive mentorship from venture capitalists, serial entrepreneurs, and legal professionals, along with prototyping funds and media exposure. The competition has helped launch numerous successful companies and is one of the most prestigious student startup competitions in the world.
