Oxford Science Enterprises (OSE) is an independent, evergreen venture capital and venture-building firm founded in 2015, operating in strategic partnership with the University of Oxford as its preferred investor. OSE finds, funds, and builds science-led spinouts across deep tech, life sciences, and health tech — covering areas such as quantum computing, AI, fusion energy, robotics, drug discovery, and diagnostics. It is structured as a privately held, evergreen patient-capital company (not a traditional LP fund), allowing long-term investment horizons suited to science-led ventures. OSE has raised over £850m from global investors and, together with 300+ co-investors, has deployed more than £3bn into 50+ flagship portfolio companies. It reports a net asset value of £1.3bn. Check sizes range from £50,000 to £25m, with follow-on support through to exit. OSE also runs Entrepreneur-in-Residence (18-month salaried) and Scientist-in-Residence programmes to co-found new ventures. Oxford researchers and innovators can initiate contact via the website; OSE also accepts co-investor and shareholder inquiries through dedicated contact forms.
