UK-Germany Bilateral Collaborative R&D: Round 5
GrantActiveInnovate UK and Germany's federal economics ministry co-fund business-led industrial research across three themes: clean energy, life sciences and engineering biology. The UK partner can claim GBP 100,000 to GBP 350,000 at up to 70% of eligible costs, with the German partner funded separately through the ZIM programme. A cross-border consortium is mandatory: the UK lead must be a UK-registered micro, small or medium enterprise partnered with at least one independent German-registered SME, and further UK businesses, academics and research organisations may join. Projects run 12 to 24 months from August 2027; this fifth round opened 28 September 2026 and closes 1 December 2026.
