Vesalius Biocapital Partners is a venture capital firm based in Strassen, Luxembourg, investing in life science companies across Europe. Its thesis centers on therapeutics, medical devices and diagnostics, with its most recent fund also targeting digital health and eHealth/mHealth companies. The firm backs companies at all stages, including early-stage projects with proprietary technology and IP, unique team skills and a clear competitive edge based on solid data, as well as corporate spin-offs with more mature assets; it sources deals partly through partnerships with research institutes and technology transfer offices that support spin-outs from academic centers. It typically commits a few hundred thousand euros into seed-stage projects and can deploy up to €10M in a single portfolio company across multiple financing rounds, generally acting as lead or co-lead investor and taking a board seat.
