Flanders’ core innovation grant for companies developing a new technology, materially improving a process or service, building a prototype or running a pilot phase, serving as the development-stage counterpart to VLAIO’s research project grant. Support starts at 25 percent of the approved project budget and rises to a 50 percent ceiling with size bonuses of 20 points for small and 10 for medium firms plus a 10 point substantive-collaboration bonus, or a 60 percent ceiling for interregional and international consortium projects. Grants run from EUR 25K to EUR 3M per project, capped at EUR 8M per applicant per year and EUR 12M for SME collaborations. Eligibility requires a legal entity with operational and economic activity in the Flemish Region, with no consortium requirement and no SME-only restriction; submissions are continuous year-round through VLAIO’s digital portal and support is non-retroactive.
