The World Teak Conference series, organized under IUFRO (International Union of Forest Research Organizations) with FAO support, is the preeminent international forum on teak plantation management, economics, and landscape restoration, with the most recent 5th World Teak Conference held September 17-20, 2025, in Cochin, Kerala, India. The conference convenes forest researchers, agroforestry professionals, plantation managers, wood scientists, policy makers, and development partners from teak-producing regions across Asia, Africa, and Latin America to discuss sustainable value-chain development, techno-economic feasibility analyses, and forest ecosystem restoration in teak landscapes. Sessions address global teak resources, market dynamics, climate adaptation, biodiversity conservation in plantation systems, and livelihood impacts on forest-dependent communities. Held every two to three years in different regions (Costa Rica 2011, Thailand 2013, Ecuador 2015, Ghana 2022, India 2025), the World Teak Conference provides a critical platform for integrating research, industry practice, and policy dialogue on teak's sustainable role in global forestry.
